Oppo has added a new smartphone to its F-series lineup in India with the launch of the Oppo F35 Pro 5G. The F-series has traditionally focused on camera capabilities, particularly selfies, and the latest model continues that approach with a 50-megapixel front camera featuring autofocus. Alongside the camera, the phone brings a large battery, fast charging, a MediaTek Dimensity chipset and a premium-looking design.
Oppo’s F-series has been present in India for a decade, and the company has used the latest generation to continue its focus on bringing features associated with higher-end smartphones to a more accessible price segment. After spending some time with the Oppo F35 Pro 5G, here are our initial impressions of its design, display, camera hardware and overall feel.
Oppo F35 Pro 5G Price in India
The Oppo F35 Pro 5G price in India starts at Rs. 45,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The 8GB + 128GB version costs Rs. 49,999, while the top-end 8GB + 256GB model is priced at Rs. 54,999.
The pricing is higher than the previous-generation model, although the increase comes at a time when smartphone component costs, particularly memory and storage, have been putting pressure on manufacturers. One notable change is that the entry-level variant now comes with 6GB of RAM, whereas the previous generation offered 8GB RAM in its base configuration.

Oppo F35 Pro 5G Design and Colours
The Oppo F35 Pro 5G is available in Sunset Orange, Twilight Brown and Wave Blue. Among these options, the Sunset Orange version stands out the most. It has a bold appearance that changes depending on how light falls on the rear panel.
Under direct light, the orange finish can look relatively simple, but viewing the phone from different angles reveals a shimmering wave-like pattern across the back. This gives the handset a more distinctive appearance and helps it stand apart from smartphones that use conventional flat colour finishes.
The Wave Blue variant looks comparatively vibrant, while Twilight Brown offers a more understated appearance. Overall, the Sunset Orange version is likely to attract the most attention among the three.
Slim and Comfortable in the Hand
Oppo has retained a design language similar to its predecessor, including the company’s Smile Curve Design for the rear camera module. The camera island features glitter-like elements underneath the glass, which Oppo refers to as the Starry Sea Lens.
The phone has a flat frame, but its overall construction makes it comfortable to hold. The power button and volume controls are positioned on the right side and can be reached without much thumb movement. Despite carrying an 8,000mAh battery, the handset weighs around 210 grams, which makes it reasonably comfortable for a device with such a large battery.
Oppo F35 Pro 5G Display
The display is another important part of the overall experience, although the phone’s biggest talking point remains its camera hardware. The large screen is designed for everyday activities such as video streaming, social media, gaming and browsing.
During our initial use, the phone’s overall design and weight distribution made it comfortable to handle for extended periods. A more detailed assessment of colour accuracy, brightness, outdoor visibility and gaming performance will be included in our full review.

50MP Selfie Camera Is the Highlight
The biggest attraction of the Oppo F35 Pro 5G is its front-facing camera. The smartphone features a 50-megapixel selfie camera with autofocus, making it one of the more notable camera specifications in this price segment.
Oppo’s F-series has historically placed considerable emphasis on selfies, and the new model continues that strategy. Autofocus should also be useful for keeping subjects sharp at different distances, particularly during selfies and video calls. However, image quality cannot be judged solely by megapixel count, so we will need to test the camera in different lighting conditions before giving a final verdict.
Dual Rear Camera Setup
At the back, the smartphone carries a dual-camera system consisting of a 50-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. This combination provides a standard wide camera for everyday photography along with a wider field of view for landscapes, group shots and architecture.
The camera module also contributes to the phone’s overall design, with the decorative elements underneath the glass adding a premium touch. Our complete review will examine details such as dynamic range, low-light photography, portrait quality, autofocus performance and video recording.

Performance and Fast Charging
The Oppo F35 Pro 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Max chipset. The processor is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage, depending on the variant.
The phone also supports 80W wired fast charging, which should help reduce charging time despite the large 8,000mAh battery. Battery endurance and real-world charging speeds will be among the key areas we test during the full review, particularly because large batteries and fast charging are two of the phone’s major selling points.
Oppo F35 Pro 5G First Impressions: What We Think
After spending some initial time with the Oppo F35 Pro 5G, the phone appears to have a well-rounded package. Its standout features include the large 8,000mAh battery, 80W charging, 50-megapixel autofocus selfie camera and distinctive Sunset Orange design.
The handset also feels comfortable in the hand despite its large battery, while the rear design gives it a more premium appearance than its price positioning might suggest. However, these are only our initial impressions, and several important aspects still need detailed testing.
